hammy is starting to heal. able to run w/o a limp at a reasonable pace. Still a ways to go. Chicago might not be out of the picture yet.

Mon 5m am easy 8m pm easy with 6x short hill sprints
Tue 5m am easy 8m pm (Warm up 2.5 miles, 14 x 400m sprints with 1:25 rest between sets. First 7 @ 5:30 pace, next 7 @ 5:20, cool down 2 miles)
Wed 6m am easy 8m pm easy
Thu 6m am easy 8m pm easy with 6x 20 sec strides (2 @ 70, 2 @ 80, 2 @ 90% effort level)
Fri 9m pm (2.5m warm up then 3x 2 mile tempos 3:00 rest between 2 @ 6:20 pace, 2 @ 6:10 pace, 2 @ 6:00 pace, cool down)
Sat 10m am easy
Sun 20m am easy to moderate
Total for week = 93 miles

Monday - upper body weights with 1,500m row
Tuesday - 73 degrees & 73 dewpoint. Intervals 1st one - 1.80 miles, 19:21, 10:43 pace, 155 avg HR (77%), 167 max HR (83%)
2nd one - 1.52 miles, 15:44, 10:20 pace, 161 avg bpm (80%), 183 max bpm (91%)
Yoga in the evening.
Wednesday - 76 degrees & 73 dewpoint. 10 miles at 13:17 pace
Thursday - rest
Friday - 79 degrees & 73 dewpoint. 20 miles at 14:28 pace
Sunday - 0

(I can't fathom running 20 miles in 79 degrees with a 73-degree dewpoint, Doug. That's seriously impressive.)
Me, I kept it on the easy side in this last week before wife and kid go back to school.
Mon: Rest
Tue: Rest, picked up Charles and Susie Moman
Wed: 3 miles barefoot with Charles Moman, who wore Hokas.
Thu: Lazy (Hey, it works for Jerry…)
Fri: 6.3 miles on hills
Sat: Rest
Sun: 6.3 miles, including 5-mile MAF test
Week: 15.5 miles
Next week, I'll probably start adding in a little more activity.

Week 12 of 18 for the Chicago marathon is in the books, I can't believe how the warm weather this past week has wiped me out at times. Good thing this weekend was not a long run but two easy runs. Sincerely hoping this later summer warm weather doesn't last for long even though I like it outside of running.

Tues - 10 miles with 7 long steep hill repeats in 89% humidity; weights & core
Wed -5 easy
Thurs - 16 miles
Fri - Day off (drive to Boston)
Sat - 5 miles with strides on the Esplanade
Sun - 8 mile Tempo run in the thunder, lightning, & rain
44 miles total

Wow, I'm back and behind on my training. I'm only 12 weeks out from JFK so I had better get it together.
