Marathon Comparison Table
I remember seeing a table that compared various marathons to each other. For example, Bos was 10 sec slower than Berlin. I was google searching for it. Anyone know what I'm talking about. Looking for a fast but USATF legal course. CIM?

Re: Marathon Comparison Table
If you mean BQ-certified courses, there's a list here: http://www.marathonguide.com/races/bostonmarathonqualifyingraces.cfm?Year=2013
Not sure if it helps in what you're looking for, but at least it's an interesting list.

CIM has pretty competitive filed, which I like, but I read the course and crowd support are boring.

Those time conversions are interesting. I think the course adjustment is probably pretty close, but the weather adjustment I'm not sure about. Was it warm in Chicago this year?

What's the problem Jerry you need crowd support to run well?

Nope it was not that warm this year, actually I thought it was pretty close to perfect except for a little windy.
It was 48 degrees at the start and I believe in the mid 50s when I finished. The high temp for the day which happened much later in the afternoon was 65.

I found this link to on findmymarathon.com to be pretty cool.

Interesting on this link how the numbers are slightly different then on the link that Chris posted. Both links are from the same site.

Houston: 3:00:00
Boston: 2:57:53
Dallas: 2:57:59
Are they out of their freaky minds?

Re: Marathon Comparison Table
I thought the same thing, Jerry - plug in Chicago and Boston. Boston 3 hr, Chicago 3:03. I think they are taking into consideration the "downhill" profile of Boston and the fact that it can indeed benefit many runners who don't care as much for a "flat" course.
Re: Marathon Comparison Table
that isn't the chart I was talking about, but that website is pretty cool. I looked at all my previous marathons and it's really cool how he does it by year and plugs in the weather etc. I think he overestimates the weather. Although Boston 2012 cost me more than the 8 minutes he suggests. I can't tell what baseline he's using. If you're out there 4:30 the weather will certainly have more of an impact than at 2:30. I think the course comments are interesting. I'd guessed that Ridge to Bridge was about 3 min faster than Chi and it was in that ballpark.
There is a chart out there somewhere that compares about 25-50 marathons. I think Chicago was the base and then they are + - relative to that one. Anyway, fooling around online has led to some interesting websites, particularly this one.
