Nobody cares about Jerry!

Jerry posted weekly high of 79 miles in last week's weekly training thread. Nobody cared.

The 2nd thing that bothered Jerry is Jerry may have to run Dallas in December 4th instead of Houston in January. With 4-5 more weeks base building to go and 2 weeks taper, Jerry has only 8 weeks to add quality. Then if Jerry wants to taper for an all out half in November, Jerry really has only 6.

Jerry is going to need a month minimum to recover from Dallas and is planning to run a late April marathon 2012.

Now Jerry's question is to better the performance in April, not Dallas in December, which approach is better:

1. Worry about the April one after Dallas.
2. The 79 surprised Jerry, to tell the truth. So Jerry is wondering if he should stick to high mileage low intensity for Dallas to maximize the aerobic capability, then switch to a balanced training plan for April. Jerry is thinking the switch may provide some surprising stimulus?

You should tell your friend to run Dallas as a training run for Houston. After all, by January, Houston will have recorded its 157th day in a row of 100 degree temperatures or higher. And we all know it's hotter in Dallas than Houston, so you'll be acclimated.



Jerry should do both, since you'll have 3 months to get readier for that mysterious April marathon.

actually I was worried about you with all the hot weather in TX I was afraisd you were melting.

Tim thinks Jerry would like Eugene but Tim and Wendy will likely be in Boston.
