Chas and Matt - love the pics! Good God, was my hair blond.
Well at least that one is IN Traverse City. Nothing like driving for an hour across northern Michigan for a Chubby Mary.

I don't think you'd want to this time.
Tim I don't even want to know what that banana is doing to whatever that other thing is!

I would have to say this is a great race to get a PR on. It's rolling hills but I didn't even notice them throughout the course. I will say the beauty of the course gets a little boring after awhile hahahah It's very cool though!

Re: Bayshore
Not that there's almost a year until the race or anything but where does everyone usually stay?

We're staying at the Holiday Inn on Front Street. We all stayed there in 2008, and were able to walk to and from the start - perfect location. It does fill up quickly as the race approaches. We'll be booking soon.
Can't wait to see you in Bayshore!!!!

Alright, were we in the same race? I don't remember one hill on the course... I thought it was flat from start to finish.

Darn Darn Darn! I guess that means we will have to really think about making the trip to Grand Rapids to cheer you on it October!
I'm only running the half in Grand Rapids since its three weeks before NY, and I'm going to be the support for my friend, Judy as it will be her 50th state! We've run many a state together in the past.
I am planning on Boston though.

Definitely a PR course, but I wouldn't call it "flat". At least not by Chicago standards. Small rolling hills, but nothing that will slow you down. In fact, I think it helps the legs a bit by using different muscles throughout.

There are rolling bumps how about that? I didn't notice them either.

Mrs. Schuey wrote:Ok, ok, so this is a ways off...registration opens in December, 2011 and the race is in May, 2012. But...I wanted to plant the seed of running it in peoples' minds. Who would consider running Bayshore next year?
Me and Martin are in!
Is this a Full or a Half?
If I don't make the London Marathon Lottery (find out in October, race is April 22nd) I might be up for it.
Re: Bayshore
Offers both half, full, and a 10K. They fill up fast though but you should have plenty of time if you find out in Oct!

I agree. Not pancake flat, but hot hilly either. Just a bunch of gentle rollers.

Gee I haven't even done my fall marathons yet and I'm already getting excited for this one.

So un-engage yourself. Bayshore is not to be missed.

I have my annual outing to SummerCamp - a four day music festival that involves a fair amount of drinking - I did get in a 20 and a 10 miler at this year's event though.
